New Zealand Aged Care Association Conference 2016

Cam Ansell travelled to Auckland this week to speak at the New Zealand Aged Care Association 2016 Conference. The theme of the event is ‘The Pursuit of Excellence – Building on our Strengths’.

In the context of a rapidly Ageing Population, financial returns in aged residential care remain low relative to retirement living services. This partly reflects the resident contribution to capital through the ORA/LTO contracts.

For many years, Australia’s bonded system has provided similar relief in aged care, allowing consumers to contribute toward the development costs and alleviating the pressure to fund new services from a shrinking taxpayer base.
