The Commonwealth Government imposed several sanctions on BUPA Aged Care services across Australia which resulted in substantial National media attention. In order to improve clinical governance practices to meet the National Aged Care Quality Standards, Ansell Strategic was engaged as Nurse Advisor and Administrator roles for their highest profile sites affected.

Our Approach

Hands on change management agents.

Working with BUPA’s management team and site leadership, Ansell Strategic’s Operations Team set about to identify, clarify, and remediate the compliance issues.

This involved on-site review and analysis of the root cause of non-compliances and development of strategies to remediate these issues as well as providing support and assistance to the sites to implement these strategies.

The Result

Return to normal operations.

Our clinical team remained on site for the duration of the project as we worked alongside the site teams to successfully implement remediation strategies.

With the support of BUPA management, we were able to demonstrate substantial improvement and the Commonwealth was able to lift sanctions. This resulted in the services returning to full accreditation and normal operations.
